The Tunnel and Reservoir Plan, known to all of us as the Deep Tunnel Project, is one of the biggest civil engineering projects ever undertaken. On Friday, October 4th we will be touring the mainstream pumping station. The tours will give visitors a complete overview of the TARP system and how it functions to improve local water quality and mitigate flooding throughout Cook County. We start with viewing interactive displays and videos about the construction, followed by a tour of the pumping station. We finish with a bus ride to the McCook Reservoir itself where we will get a guided tour. Lunch will follow the tour at JC's Ristorante in McCook.
